1. Can we provide cover for residents outside of the UK?

No. Our motorhome insurance policy is available to UK residents only (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).

We are only able to offer cover for individuals that have been UK residents for a minimum of 12 months.

For Australian and New Zealand Residents wishing to insure a motorhome whilst touring the UK, we suggest you contact Downunder Insurance Services Ltd on 0208 350 8060.

2. How long is the European Cover?

To ensure you never pay for cover that you don't need or are unlikely to use, we offer European cover and breakdown as optional extras on top of our standard motorhome insurance policy.

If taken out, our European insurance and breakdown covers you for up to 8 months abroad.

If you require European cover or breakdown they can be added to your policy from day one, or added to your existing policy with one quick phone call at any point during your policy term.

3. Can I choose my excess?

You may choose an excess between £100 and £1000 (in increments of £50).

We offer staggered discounts for increasing your excess. The higher the excess you pick, the cheaper your insurance premium will be for the year.

4. What's the difference between "Personal Effects", "High Risk items" and "Equipment"?

"Equipment" is covered under our policy. £3000 worth of equipment cover is automatically included. "Equipment" refers to any 'non-fixed' items which are used specifically in the motorhome, or which are motorhome accessories. This includes things such as portable water containers, gas bottles, generators, pots and pans, awnings, and security devices such as wheel clamps. It also includes items such as televisions and radios providing they are used solely in the motorhome. The most we will payout for any individual item is £500 and the most we will pay in total for items left outside the motorhome is £1000.

Fixed items, such as built in audio / video equipment, navigation systems, tracking devices and alarms which came fitted as part of your motorhome by the manufacturer, or which have been retro-fitted, are not included in the £3000 equipment cover - any such devices should be reflected within your total "sums insured".

The £3000 equipment cover is a policy benefit and does not need to be added in to your "sums insured".

"Personal effects" are not covered under our policy. "Personal Effects" are possessions which you have brought from home such as clothes, bed linen and toiletries. These are generally covered by your house contents insurance policy providing you have cover for items away from home. Because of this we do not cover these items under our motorhome insurance policy.

"High Risk items" are not covered under our policy. "High Risk items" are individual items which have a high insurance risk associated to them, often because they are expensive and either attractive to thieves or prone to damage. This includes cameras, mp3 players, laptops, mobile phones, and pedal cycles; for a full list click here. As with "Personal Effects", "High Risk items" should be insured through your household contents insurance policy.

5. Would my premium decrease if I install a tracking device?

We offer a huge insurance discount of 25% for approved motorhome tracking devices. To see which devices we approve click here.

This discount is offered because we believe a monitored, pro-active tracking device is the most effective security device a motorhomer can purchase, particularly when coupled with an alarm.

6. How can I pay for my premium?

We offer a range of ways to pay for your motorhome insurance policy.

Monthly Direct Debit

7. What are your minimum security requirements?

The level of security we require you to have is dependent on the value of your motorhome. We feel this is a sensible approach to minimise theft of the motorhomes we insure and ultimately to keeping our premiums low for all our customers.

By fitting extra security you could also qualify for up to 25% motorhome insurance discount.
