We insure static caravans, chalets and holiday lodges which are sited on registered parks in England, Scotland (including Scottish Islands), Northern Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
We cannot insure static caravans, chalets and holiday lodges in any other country, including the Republic of Ireland.
"New for Old" cover means that we will replace your insured holiday home with the most recent model (or equivalent) if it is damaged beyond economic repair.
"New for Old" cover requires you to insure your holiday home at the value it would cost to replace with a new model, and not its current value (see "Market Value" cover below).
"New for Old" cover is available on static caravans, holiday chalets and lodges up to 15 years old.
"Market Value" insurance covers you for all the same things as "New for Old", but in the event of your holiday home being damaged beyond economic repair we replace your holiday home with one of equivalent value, or pay out your holiday home's current market value, instead of replacing it with a brand new model.
"Market Value" is nearly always cheaper than "New for Old", so is a good option if you are looking to save money on your insurance premium.
"Market Value" cover is available to new customers on static caravans up to 21 years old, but we may be able to renew insurance on caravans which have reached this limit subject to request.
Personal Effects are possessions which you bring from home such as clothes and toiletries. These are generally covered by your house contents insurance policy providing you have cover for items away from home and there is no need for you to pay to have them insured twice.
If Personal Effects are not covered on your home insurance, they can be covered (up to £250 per item) on our insurance policy whilst at your holiday park.
If your holiday home is your Main Residence and you do not have separate home insurance, you may wish to opt for our Main Residency Cover. With this cover, the limit for any one item of personal effects is increased to £1,500 and your personal effects are covered anywhere in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. We can also cover certain High Risk Items. Please call us to discuss.
High Risk items are not covered under our standard policy. High Risk items are individual items which have a high insurance risk associated to them, often because they are expensive and either attractive to thieves or are prone to damage. This includes cameras, mp3 players, laptops, mobile phones, and pedal cycles; for a full list please see page 6 & 7 of our policy booklet. As with Personal Effects you can often insure High Risk items through your house insurance policy.
Contents can be covered under our policy. Contents are items which are used specifically in your holiday home, for example, crockery, cutlery, electrical household goods, free standing furniture and ornaments. For a full list please see page 6 of our policy booklet.
We offer Legal Expenses cover as an optional extra. For an additional £10 (including Insurance Premium Tax) you can add Legal Expenses Cover on to your holiday home insurance policy. Cover is provided by Lawshield UK Limited. For full details See page 28 of our policy booklet

We offer a range of ways to pay for your static caravan insurance policy.
Credit / Debit Card
Paying by Credit or Debit card couldn't be easier. If you have saved a quote online then simply 'login' and use our secure online payment form to complete your transaction, alternatively you can call us with your details and we'll process the payment for you.
Monthly Direct Debit
If you would prefer to spread the payment of your insurance over 12 monthly payments, rather than pay in one lump sum, then simply call us with your bank details. We use a company called Premium Credit Ltd to provide finance and a charge for credit will apply - written quotations are available on request. Credit is available subject to status.
Cheque
Please forward your cheque made payable to "Leisuredays" to Leisuredays, New Road, Halifax, HX1 2JZ. Please ensure you print your full name and postcode on the reverse. Please note your cover cannot start until we have received your payment.
Between the 1st November and the 15th March a £500 winter weather excess will apply on damage claims resulting from burst pipes, escape of water or oil, flood or storm.
If you are occupying the holiday home, this does not apply. Also with a few easy precautions you can avoid paying the increased excess even if you are not occupying your holiday home. These precautions include turning off the water supply at the mains and draining all equipment which uses water (with exception of a professionally installed and sealed central heating system containing antifreeze maintained to manufacturer's specifications). Alternatively you can avoid paying the higher excess if your holiday home has a full central heating system and you use your manufacturers recommended 'anti-frost' settings.
If you adhere to these simple precautions and are still the victim of such claims you only have to pay your standard excess.
Your park's location is one of the factors that can affect your insurance premium, as some areas may represent a higher or lower risk than others (i.e. a park located in an area prone to flooding).
Our system uses the park's postcode to calculate your premium; this means we are unable to provide you with an online insurance quote without your postcode being entered, even if you provide the rest of the address in full.
Getting a quote and buying a policy on our website is extremely safe because of our secure quote facility, which means any information you enter will be sent to us over an encrypted channel, direct to our secure server. Our quote engine uses the most powerful SSL encryption commercially available today.
This can be verified by the 'https:' at the beginning of the web address, and also the padlock symbol which should appear in the bottom right of your browser or the address bar at the top when you begin an online quote.
For more information see our security and privacy policy.
We require holiday homes to be anchored down at all four corners or have skirting which goes around the entire base unless it has been agreed otherwise between Leisuredays and your park manager.
