A motorhome with a lengthways rear island bed as well as a drop-down double over the front lounge usually comes in at some 7.5m long. The McLouis Fusion 367 motorhome knocks some half a metre from this and still seems to offer all you want.
There might be compromise internally (more on that later), but there’s certainly not regarding specification. Nor the overall build.
Typical of many motorhomes that come to the UK from its native Italy, McLouis successfully combines state-of-the-art build (that body features GRP-clad walls as well as a roof and underfloor panel, also in GRP).
Features such as alloy wheels and flush-fitting windows suggest a motorhome well beyond its £55,000 price. Note, also, the habitation door is on the UK nearside.
There are no surprises with the base vehicle. Fiat’s Ducato uses the 140bhp engine, with automatic transmission the only automotive optional extra. The all-familiar Ducato cab comes with air conditioning, stereo unit including DAB radio and reversing monitor, plus steering wheel controls.
Overall length apart, the floorplan of the McLouis Fusion 367 motorhome holds few surprises. The main bedroom is at the back, where an island double is flanked by his and hers wardrobes. The one-piece mattress is on a slatted base but, despite a hinged section, you’ll struggle to sit up in bed because of the depth of the lockers on the back wall.
The second double bed is an electrically operated drop-down double over the lounge. A ladder clips on to help with access. The one-piece mattress on a slatted base promises comfort and support in equal measure.
That lounge is typically continental, with its L-shaped seating and pedestal leg table (it has fore and aft adjustment but the height is fixed). The single seat can also be changed to rearward-facing for travel, although it might be better suited to occasional use.
The faux leather here is the only upholstery option. The motorhome’s cab seat covers are removable, however. The light colouring and large, opening sunroof over the cab certainly help make the McLouis Fusion 367 feel spacious.
If there’s any space compromise it’s in the kitchen. The main unit, on the offside, is L-shaped but the combination of triangular three-burner hob and circular stainless steel sink isn’t particularly space-efficient. Nor is there any kind of worktop extension.
Storage is pretty good – single overhead locker, two drawers, floor locker, main cupboard under the sink, with metal baskets – while, across the corridor, there’s a generous 150-litre Thetford fridge/freezer plus a Dometic grill/mini oven.
There’s seemingly no space for a microwave, but the open shelf over the oven is home to a slide-out holder for a flatscreen TV.
Washroom facilities in the McLouis Fusion are divided between a tambour-doored toilet room on the nearside and shower cubicle offside, both handy for the main bedroom. The shower has a riser bar and wooden duckboarding, but there’s only a small drainage point.
The toilet room sees a fixed basin as well as a swivel-bowl loo, plus good locker storage and a window.
The fact that there are no potential pitfalls in terms of price hikes for otherwise essential optional extras, really helps McLouis kick on. You get as standard the Lux Pack, which includes upgraded stereo system including DAB radio and reversing camera, 120Watt solar panel, cab blinds, leisure battery, removable floor carpets etc, and Winter Pack, with insulated waste water tank, frost-resistant waste outlet. They definitely help seal any deal!
Verdict: Comprehensively kitted with a dash of style and plenty of practicality
Plus: No hidden extras, cracking value for money
Minus: No alternative upholsteries, some kitchen limitations
In-a-nutshell: Italian dream

I bought my McLouis motorhome from BC motorhomes Ayr and trying to get things sorted out is impossible one of the vent covers has been screwed on and it is not the correct one the colour does not match the other two. The head rest on the rear passenger seat was screwed on which meant you could not drop the bed and it took them a year to attempt to sort it but still not
correct

Ive owned a 360 for several months now. Pretty impressed with the build quality.
As Brian says above, there are a few issues – the white worktops and table doesn’t seem like a great idea. The table is too big for the space it lives in. We removed our table top and fitted an aftermarket one.
Ours has a transverse large bed across the back, above the enormous garage.
Would I buy another? yes – a genuine 4 berth with a large garage. Good build quality, well specced and stylishly decorated/lit. All in all, we are very happy with it. Far superior to similar priced Eldiss/Swift vans.
On 1st look it seems very good.But live in it and you notice lots of issues. The island bed seems ok but after a few times gets really hard to move. Work surfaces are shiny white easily scratched not sure why we bought it.the kitchen storage is pathetic,the seating area is terrible you can move the white shiny table every which way but where you want it.the seating head rests are in the wrong place. And the lighting is like being under spotlights only 3 plug sockets , none in sitting area. Garage big ish but by the time you add solar panel awning ,gas bottles tv rack your payload is drastically reduced stuck with it now but looking for something else.

Good review. I have owned a Mc Louis 262 for 16 years I bought it new to see me into my retirement its been a wonderful motorhome and still going strong.
