This is a popular four star park set in 60 acres just 30 minutes from the coast at Southport or Blackpool, yet Croston itself is a small, picturesque conservation village.
It’s well located, with shops and bars nearby, cycle and walking routes that are easily accessed, a bus stop right outside the park and a train station nearby.
Booking is always advisable and with the park undergoing extensive redevelopment when we visited it is looking to become even more appealing. It’s lit at night, there are play areas, the toilet blocks were well presented and there are some pitches with water, electricity and drainage. There are a substantial number of well established seasonal caravans on the site.
Unaccompanied teenagers and single sex groups under the age of 25 are not permitted to stay on the park. A maximum of three pets per unit are allowed and there is a motorhome service point.

Costs;
Nightly costs; for outfit, two people and three children in low season on a standard pitch with electricity from £16.00.
Extra person; £2.50 each.
Extra charges; there is a £20 refundable deposit for the entrance barrier card and shower block key. Dogs £1.50 one off charge, booking amendment fee £2.50
£5 if you wish to stay on the pitch after 12 noon.

Plenty of choices for your taste buds for the purely peckish or the downright ravenous; try Rascals Bar, Croston www.themillhotelchorley.co.uk The Rose and Crown pub is very near the site, or the historic Grapes Hotel, in Croston www.the-grapes.co.uk
Local attractions;
Several golf courses with discounted green fees are nearby, go paddling at the coast, try Botany Bay shopping, eating and play complex at Chorley www.botanybay.co.uk Plus there’s Rivington which is hailed as Chorley’s mini Lake District www.goape.co.uk

From Chorley on A581 towards Croston, the site is well signposted and will be on the right.
