  1. Mr T Smit says:

our last caravan and the motorhome which replaced it both have (as far as I know its common practice) different power settings for heating and hot water. We use a low wattage 750w kettle and so far never had a problem with a 5 amp hookup. Apart from in Hornflur france where people overloaded the hook up and blew the main breakers so the whole site lost its power. It was late after noon before it was restored.

  2. David Humphreys says:

I am a bit concerned that this you indicate the sites listed only have 6amp hook up, in the U.K. some sites are 10amp but the majority are 16amp, is this the common ampage for European sites, we have not toured abroad before but intend to do so in France early summer and Croatia in September, I believe it will give problems for both showers, lighting and refrigeration if only 6amp is available, or am I unduly concerned

    • Liz @ Caravan Guard says:

Campsites on the continent do vary in terms of electricity supply but for an extra charge it can often be provided. It’s generally a good idea to contact the site when making a booking to see if they can meet your specific needs.
