Getting in and out of your caravan need never be a problem – as long as you have the right step. Here’s our gear guide to what’s out there, as well as some handy buying tips.
Top buying tips for caravan steps
- It’s worth checking your caravan steps are made in accordance with EN1645-1646 regulations.
- Have a look at who’s using what type of steps for their caravans whenever you’re on a campsite. It will give some indication of what most folk prefer.
- Always use your caravan step on surfaces that are as level and with as little movement as possible. Tent or awning pegs can often be used to keep your step in the right place.
- Most specialist caravan accessories shops will have a range of caravan steps for sale, making them the ideal places to go and try out a few for yourselves.
- Need a handrail? You might want to consider adding one to your caravan rather than buying a step with its own handrail – it will optimise stability.
- It’s always worth stopping and checking your pitch when you leave it – caravan steps are the single item you’re most likely to accidentally leave behind!
