Its not free if you have to travel to daventry from the noth of england to get it fitted

  2. Phil Harris says:

Are these panels that will only operate in strong sunlight or one of the newer more efficient systems that will provide power even on a dull day? Plus do they have to point directly at the sun requiring the panel to be relocated as the sun moves or is this no longer a restriction?

    • Liz @ Caravan Guard says:

All solar panels work best when the sun is shining in a clear sky and is at 90 degrees to the panel Phil. These are the ideal conditions.
CIGS panels do work better than silcon panels in less than ideal conditions, such as when the sky is overcast and / or the sun is low in the sky. Even so, performance is greatly reduced compared to when the panel is working in ideal conditions. CIGS panels are also much less affected by shadowing such as when a tree’s branch is creating a shadow across part of the panel.

    Just what I need.

Sounds like a win win situation.
only draw back would be the distance for me to travel, but combined with a holiday it would be a winner

  5. John Burgess says:

This ad is very misleading, are we winning a solar panel which will be fitted for half the normal price (i.e.the panel is free and the unit will be fitted for half the normal fitting price) or is the whole deal for half price, i.e.this is not free but a 50% off the total cost of panel plus fitting? if the latter then the offer is expensive because unless you live in or near Daventry then it would be cheaper to buy one and have it fitted locally (certainly for me living in Devon)

    • Liz @ Caravan Guard says:

The giveaway is to win a solar panel. RoadPro will then fit the panel for half the cost of a normal fitting. So the panel is free.

  6. Johnny Twosheds says:

I would have liked to know about adding panels to existing panels too and what their output is capable of keeping running in average British weather.

    • Liz @ Caravan Guard says:

Hi Johnny, adding solar panels to existing ones can be done but it’s not a simple process. You’d need to check there’s space on your roof and we’d speak to an expert first.
