Business Intelligence and Data Visualisation Developer

Full time position

Role responsibilities:

Caravan Guard are data rich and although we have strong IT and analytical capabilities in house already, we are looking for someone to drive our business intelligence capability to the next level and support our strategy to be an insight driven organisation across all departments.

• Migration of a suite of XL reports into a BI tool (e.g. Qlik or PowerBI)
• Design, build and maintain key company dashboards and reports
• Data engineering / warehousing (with support from IT)
• Interface with managers to understand data needs
• Data analysis and interpretation to provide insight
• Communication of insight in layman’s terms to add business value
• Maintain technical documentation and provide training to others
• Future exploration of machine learning and predictive analytics once all key reports in a BI tool

Useful skills and experience:

• Strong portfolio of data visualisation dashboards
• Working knowledge of PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau or similar
• Relevant qualification (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business)
• Knowledge of data engineering and warehousing using SQL, ETL, data warehouse, and Excel
• Experience with programming languages such as R, Python or SAS
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage / prioritise workload
• Communication skills at both technical and layman level
• A good understanding of data science, machine learning and predictive analytics desirable or
• Strong desire to learn and develop (e.g. further education in data science and predictive analytics)
