Security and storage

• Our Minimum Security Requirement
  We require a good quality wheelclamp (covering at least one wheel nut) and a hitchlock to be fitted whenever your caravan is unattended and detached from the tow car. Theft cover would be excluded if you do not meet with our security requirements. As an alternative to a wheel clamp we also accept an axle wheel lock device (e.g. AL-KO Secure Wheel Lock or SAS Diamond Wheel lock for BPW chassis). Additional security may be required if your caravan is of high value or a twin axle model.

• Our Storage Requirement
  If your caravan is kept at home we will reduce your premium by up to 10% if there is extra security in place such as a locking drive or hitch post, a chain or locked gates.
  
  A substantial premium reduction of up to 10% also applies if you keep your caravan in a CaSSOA (Caravan Storage Site Owners Association) registered or other secure site. We will be pleased to provide details of your nearest secure site or visit www.cassoa.co.uk.
  
  It is a condition of your policy that we are notified and agree any change in storage when not in use as we rate on the postcode and security at the place of storage.
• Alarm
  Fit an alarm to your caravan and qualify for a 5% insurance discount. There are many alarm systems available for caravans. The best types of alarm monitor movement inside the caravan using Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensors and/or will trigger via tilt sensors if a thief attempts to tow your caravan away. The Concept Kel is a good example of an alarm that has these features.
  
  As a budget option, you could also consider a simple door alarm easily picked up from your local DIY store, but remember these devices often lack the more advanced movement features of the alarms mentioned above.
  
  Look out for alarms with Sold Secure approval as this is usually a sign that a device has stood up to rigorous testing.
• Caravan Tracking Devices
