A big two-berth motorhome with a full-scale rear lounge. There was a time when you’d be spoilt for choice. Not so these days. Nevertheless, Elddis has added the 295 to its Encore line-up of more luxurious models, with a floorplan that was often favoured especially by caravanners switching over to the motorised side for the first time.
In this video, we walk through the 2024 Elddis Encore 295 motorhome:
Rear lounge luxury
At 7.41m, the Elddis Encore 295 is a long motorhome, but it really makes the most of its rear lounge with large windows to all three of its sides and a Heki rooflight– great for enjoying the views out and overhead respectively.
All boast concertina blinds with flyscreens, while the three sides are lined with overhead lockers as well as plenty of storage space in the settee bases.
At night, the seating converts pretty easily to a 2.06m x 1.07m double bed (or you might prefer 1.86m x 0.67m singles).
There’s actually a second lounge, of sorts, thanks to swivels for both cab seats, although the furniture here rather encroaches. But, this could still come in handy if the rear is in bed mode and you want somewhere to sit. The cab also benefits from a wind-up sunroof, which not only provides ventilation but extra daylight to the whole of the interior of the Elddis Encore 295 motorhome.
Like the main lounge, the centrally located washroom and kitchen are also on a grander scale.
It’s an extended washroom along the offside. The usual Thetford swivel-bowl toilet is here, accompanied by a central countertop handbasin with swan neck tap.
There’s space for a dedicated, plastic-lined shower cubicle, with Ecocamel showerhead on a riser bar, but just the one drainage point.
The pull-out clothes hanger will come in handy, there’s an illuminated mirror over the basin and a toothbrush mug. And, as ever, the opening window is a welcome fitting, above which is a double-doored, shelved locker. A couple of clothes hooks and a toilet roll holder complete the scene.
Step out of the washroom and immediately in front of you is a unit with low-level countertop and two mains sockets next to it. The microwave oven here is a traditional loose plate model. You don’t get many that are as conveniently low as this, though. There’s even space for a double-doored locker above it, while to its right is a huge wardrobe, complete with upper- and lower-level hanging rails.
The Elddis Encore 295 kitchen gets a full Thetford cooker (dual-fuel hob, separate grill and oven) and a circular sink in matching black, under which is a trio of drawers and a floor locker. Also here are a second floor locker (under the oven) and further shelved locker space. There’s a small area of permanent worktop to the left of the sink, plus an extension section.
Opposite the kitchen is a Dometic slimline fridge with removable freezer compartment. The unit to its right is at a height to take a TV (appropriate sockets are here; an aerial is standard). Also here is a phone charging pad which flips up to give access to two USBs.
The Elddis Encore 295 exterior has a boxy look, but you might want to complement this with alloy wheels from the options list. Those silver sides are GRP, as is the underfloor protection, with Elddis using its usual bonded construction coachbuilding techniques.
It’s based on Fiat’s worthy Ducato. The 140bhp engine and six-speed manual gearbox are standard, but there are the 180bhp and automatic transmission upgrades to consider if you want even more relaxing driving.
Alde central heating tops the kit list here, but the Elddis Encore 295 motorhome remains a mix of luxury and keeping the overall specification within limits for a competitive price tag. With that in mind, and a slightly larger budget, you might want to explore some of the special edition versions offered by Elddis’ leading dealers.

Really disappointed especially it being a two birth, why, well my wife and I have had an Auto-Trail Apache 700 from new 10 years, compared to the Elddis Encore 295, it’s a tad longer, and yes it’s weight is over the 3,500kg at 4250kg but ours has a far better layout even excluding our over the cab double bed. Our Apache 700 is a 6 berth (only four are belted seats), though we’ve never slept more than 4 inside. Our lounge is longer to lay out on, it too a has separate shower within washroom/toilet, it has a four seater dinette with kitchen area directly opposite. The dinette area converts into a double bed, and the over cab has a full double bed. And just as Encore 295, our lounge area seating converts into into king sized double bed. It has ample under the bed storage accessed from both inside and through large external locker doors. how large well I can get a mid sized mobility scooter in through the external locker doors, the scooter’s batteries and seat are secured within habitation lounge area. My wife and I have been motorhoming for over 20 years and have never desired a fixed bed as we like a large U shaped lounge with panoramic views out the windows when seated and lounging, I can make up the lounge bed in 7 minutes, if we want a fixed bed to crash out on after a long journey I pre-make up the lounge area bed, then screen it off with inbuilt screen, separating it from dinette area. Why motorhome manufacturers have moved away from offering non fixed bed units with better layouts I really don’t understand
Looks nice inside but what people want is more external and storage space pictures
Thanks for the feedback Glenn. We’ll bear that in mind for future reviews. Hopefully the video will give you some of the external features and storage? We always provide a link to the manufacturer website where you can find out more : https://elddis.co.uk/models/encore-295

Didnt read as soon as I saw the bathroom basin is a glorified bowl I changed the page.
