Making its entry for the 2026 season is this, the Laser 480 Xtra from Coachman. It joins as the only two-berth in the seven-model Laser Xtra line-up, but it’s a classic end washroom caravan floorplan at a size and weight that will appeal to couples who still want plenty of luxury for their bucks.
Indeed, it might lose out to its nearest rivals in terms of price, but the overall specification and a clear premium feel should provide suitable compensation.
Laser fits in between VIP and flagship Lusso in the Coachman caravan portfolio, so you can certainly expect a high level of luxury, not to mention a more premium quality of build. Plus, its Xtra tag denotes it’s an 8ft wide-bodied model – and it’s worth noting it has no direct competitor at this extra width.

In this video we go on a walkthrough of the 2026 Coachman Laser 480 Xtra caravan:
The Laser 480 Xtra boasts all the usual Coachman attributes on the outside, starting with a front that boasts a flush-fitting trio of opening windows complemented by a fixed sunroof and opening rooflight, plus the usual Coachman two front lockers arrangement – the nearside capable of carrying two 6kg propane gas cylinders. Details such as the grab handles and lower front skirting are in black.

The sides are silver-grey with skirting and other details – locker surrounds, fridge vents and more – in white. Other fittings that underline the quality include heavy-duty corner steadies and external gas and mains electric outlets. While the front and rear main panels are ABS, the sides are still a traditional aluminium. It all gets a 10-year bodywork warranty.

There’s plenty of safety and security on the 2026 Coachman Laser 480 Xtra caravan, too. Al-Ko’s ATC, Al-Ko Secure wheel lock and a Vanguard alarm are all issued as standard, and will land you a discount on your caravan insurance premium with Caravan Guard.

Access to the living area is via a one-piece door. Step in and you’re greeted by a crisp, modern look that starts with herringbone-style flooring which, along with features like concave upper-level locker doors, Bluetooth speaker system and a new overall look living area, as featured across all Coachman Laser caravans for 2026.

The front lounge has traditional twin settees which go on to make single beds (1.84m x 0.73m) or, if you prefer a bed length over 6ft, a 2.00m x 1.39m double – the latter using slide-out slats that span the settee bases.
Typically Coachman, in seating mode the backrests are that bit higher than the norm and seating comfort and support just that bit superior.
The extra width of the Coachman Laser 480 Xtra caravan means there’s a considerable L-shape to the kitchen, which allows for extra storage, including slide-out metal racking, finished in black.
There are also three drawers. Plus, extra work surface, thanks to the flush-fitting loose cover for the sink and a hinged worktop extension.

As you’d expect, the cooker – at the right of the rest of the kitchen – features a separate oven and grill as well as a dual-fuel hob, complete with cast iron pan rest and extractor fan. Over this is a 650Watt flatbed microwave oven – not everyone’s favourite location, admittedly.
The fridge sits to the immediate right of this. It’s a Thetford N4142 slimline model with a total 137 litre capacity and automatic energy selection. Other noteworthy kitchen features include a couple of mains sockets, a lever-operated swan-neck tap with flexible head, extractor unit and a full splashguard.
Opposite the kitchen, there’s an area offering extra worktop space, a TV station complete with extending bracket for a flatscreen monitor, and plenty more storage.
Across the back of the Coachman Laser 480 Xtra, the washroom includes a countertop handbasin, swivel-bowl toilet and a large, fully lined shower cubicle – as well as dressing space.

There’s also room here for a full-size wardrobe and dedicated storage locker for the dining table.
Throughout, this caravan has features that shout upmarket – from Alde central heating to reading lights with USB portals, wireless phone charger, Teleco Teleplus TV aerial with FM and DAB reception, on-board 40-litre fresh water tank, and plenty more.
Coachman says the Laser 480 Xtra is the most luxurious two-berth caravan available in the UK for the season ahead. It’s hard to disagree with the assertion.
