The Nexxo T 569 from Bürstner is a low-profile motorhome that’s shorter than many high-top camper.
And despite having only 100bhp under its bonnet, this entry-level Bürstner still feels quite sporty on the road too due to its size and weight. Despite its dimensions, the Nexxo doesn’t actually feel that small inside and its body is as wide as the manufacturer’s flagship Elegance.
The latest Nexxo comes with elm furniture (as did the Viseo A-class) and it has a good-looking interior with lots of light provided by the optional overcab Skyroof and Midi-Heki vent above the lounge.
The half-dinette up front is well-judged for seating comfort. The upholstery is nicely finished, the cushion is soft but supportive and the seatbelt and headrest provision is as good as you’ll get anywhere.
With just two of you on board this seat and the two swivel cab seats will be enough and there’s an impressive swivelling extension leaf for the table.
While comfortable for two people it’s not a motorhome suitable for serious entertaining. The kitchen is compact so not particularly suitable for preparing a roast dinner.
There’s an integral hob and sink unit, but the hob area is designed so as to double up as a draining board. You get three burners to cook on but the fridge is impressive with its 104-litre capacity.
There’s a decent-sized cutlery drawer and more than adequate high and low-level storage.
The fixed-bed is well proportioned and a drop-front door into the under-bed locker is in addition to a hatch in the rear wall and a lift up mattress base.
The corner washroom is, of course, alongside the bed and it comes with a pair of bi-fold doors to create a shower cubicle. A bench cassette toilet and swivelling washbasin also feature, along with plenty of room to use all these facilities.
Verdict:
The Nexxo has a grown-up quality to it but squeezes a fixed bed layout into ultra-compact bodywork. It’s not unique in this but others either feel more cut-price or more confined. It provides serious opposition to fixed bed high-top conversions and there’s a wide-range of options to choose from.
