We’re delighted our pedal powered fundraising in the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride has raised thousands of pounds for many charities.
Our eight-strong team of cyclists took on the gruelling ride in June – cycling 70 miles from West Yorkshire to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Filey.
With the help of caravan industry businesses, colleagues and friends and family, the team raised £8,141 this year!
It was the fifth year we’d entered a team in the bike ride and our fundraising efforts have seen us raise more than £37,000 in total.
Over its history the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride has raised £2.6million for Yorkshire charities including Epilepsy Research UK, Candlelighters Trust, Martin House Children’s Hospice and St. John Ambulance.
Caravan Guard and Leisuredays founder Peter Wilby, who saddled up for his 23rd ride this year, thanked everyone who got behind the team.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have raised thousands of pounds once again,” he said. “I’d like to personally thank all our friends at dealerships, parks and elsewhere in the caravan industry for their continued generous support year after year.”
The company matched many of the donations as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
