Life gets ever Grande-r for Bailey as it remodels its Pegasus caravan range for the 2024 season – introducing a Pegasus Grande GT75 line-up of four models.
Grande denotes a wider body, going up to the UK maximum of 2.45m for touring caravans, while GT75 is a reminder that Bailey is set to celebrate three-quarters of a century of building caravans from its Bristol base.
The Bologna here is the twin axle, transverse island bed/end washroom Pegasus Grande GT75 offering. That’s a floorplan that’s proved highly popular for a number of seasons now and shows no signs of abating.
Sounded out
It’s no surprise Bailey has used the milestone anniversary opportunity to enhance its offerings. A genuine conversation grabber is the self-styled media station just inside the door – here you’ll see a wireless charger as well as housing for a portable Sonos speaker that – literally – means you can have music wherever you go.
Despite its four-berth billing, this Pegasus Grande GT75 Bologna caravan is going to appeal most to couples, especially those who like an L-shaped lounge with plenty of space to sprawl in (or for entertaining, of course) and a large, comfortable permanent bed as well as a full-scale end washroom.
Floor space is bountiful, too, something to consider especially if you take a pet or two caravanning with you. Sprung cushions provide plenty of supportive comfort.
Featuring what, for Bailey, is now a typical three-window front, with the central unit stretching far into the roofline. Along with a generous sized offside window, it makes for a particularly daylight-friendly, L-shaped front lounge.
In lieu of a window, the nearside is a solid wall with a holder to take a TV of pretty much any size.
Those windows also help towards excellent ventilation all-round, while the Pegasus Grande GT75 Bologna also benefits from Truma’s Combi 6 system for its heating and hot water supply.
It’s certainly a very open-plan layout, with a divider to seal off the bedroom and beyond should you wish for some privacy.
The only surprise is a somewhat compact kitchen, although there is a large capacity, slimline Thetford fridge with freezer compartment.
The main kitchen unit houses a full Thetford cooker with a sink to its left, and some permanent worktop to the left of that.
The worktop extension listed opposite could prove a particularly popular option, although you can fold the hob lid down – it’s designed to give you extra food preparation space before you start any cooking.
If the kitchen is a tad compromised, it’s fair to say the bedroom is magnificent. You sleep with your heads to the nearside, where there’s a large padded headboard section, with a window directly opposite.
Bedside cabinets each side give you a handy combination of tabletop, drawer, and locker. Lockers overhead offer more storage, while the two reading lights are individually switched and come with USB sockets in their bases.
At the foot of the bed there’s also a dresser unit on the left side, and a wardrobe on the other side of the window.
It comes with two hanging rails – one high-level, the other low – as well as room at the bottom for footwear. There’s also space in here for a section of shelving that’s perfect for smaller items of clothing. Plus there’s a full height strip of mirror.
Beyond the bedroom, access to the washroom is helped by being able to retract the island double. It’s a particularly spacious area, accessed via a sliding door.
The oversize shower cubicle has folding doors and a deep tray, but just a single plug hole. The Ecocamel showerhead is on a riser bar.
There’s a swivel-bowl toilet on the opposite side, while the central square countertop basin is just about large enough for its main, handwashing role.
The locker beneath is double doored, and a big mirror above comes with two downlighters. There’s also a shelved locker over the toilet, with extra open shelving alongside.
And, it might be the smallest of details, but to some it will matter a lot – the mains inlet is switched to the offside so there’s no need to run a cable through your awning.
As ever, a whole host of accessories – many of them branded – to complement your Pegasus Grande GT75 Bologna caravan are available direct from Bailey’s accessories retail division, Prima Leisure.
Plus, like all latest Baileys, the Bologna comes pre-wired so that an Avtex Wi-Fi system (typically £349.99) and a Thule Omnistor awning are among the extra items that can be added by your supplying dealer.
And finally, there are a few safety and security features as standard to attract a decent discount on your annual caravan insurance premium, such as a Tracker Retrieve caravan tracking system, with an initial three-month subscription, Al-Ko Trailer Control System and a receiver for an Al-Ko Secure axle wheel lock.

Those somewhat elaborate Bailey caravan names always make me smile a little
I like the mains inlet and the bathroom layout. Otherwise this caravan is pretty standard and boring, and the optional extras as normal in the leisure world are way over priced. £110 for a small piece of chipboard work top to be added.
Bailey dick terpin wore a mask. Daylight robbery.
Saw this at the Harrogate show and was SO disappointed. We have a 2020 Bologna Grande with the ‘G’ shaped seating area, which we much prefer. And to do away with a window in favour of a TV console is criminal. Garvan Guard, if you can insure this for £500, why am I paying over £700 for my 2020 model?
Hi Dennis, insurance quotes vary depending on a number of factors, such as storage postcode and security, claims history, security fitted to the caravan etc. You can always review your cover at renewal.
Best wishes, Liz
For an anniversary model, just 2 layouts on either a single or twin axle and both 100% aimed at couples is pretty poor. No family layouts in baileys portfolio if you want an 8ft wide caravan. No windows into the awning except in the door is also not great. An option to have a window instead of a tv wall would be nice for those who don’t take a tv away with them.
