All the iconic hallmarks are here in this trendy micro tourer, starting with its unique, eye-catching all-GRP, top-drawer bodywork, backed by a 10-year integrity warranty. It’s a monocoque shell, sitting on a chassis produced specifically for Barefoot Caravans.
New for the 2025 season, the Eclipse joins the Barefoot stable and offers many of the proven qualities of its sister models.
In this video we take a look at the 2025 Barefoot Eclipse micro tourer:
The interior follows the same format as other Barefoot caravans, with U-shaped seating at the front, along with a pedestal leg table (which stows in the wardrobe for safe travel), while across the back is a washroom, leaving space for a kitchen area along the offside.
When it comes to sleeping, those settee bases make up to a 1.83m x 1.83m bed, allowing you the choice of sleeping transversely or longitudinally. Just as the beds are 6ft, so is the standing room in the main living area.
The curved sides of this teeny tourer’s body make for a notable tumblehome (narrowing), yet there’s still some good upper-level storage provision. And there’s an all-but-full size wardrobe at the entrance door.
That body curvature precludes the use of a blind for the front window, too. Instead, you get a curtain, while all windows elsewhere have blinds and flyscreens.
Kitchen facilities in the Barefoot Eclipse start with a two-burner gas hob and a separate sink – the loose cover can also be used as a chopping board.
Below is a Webasto Isotherm 65-litre compressor fridge with a small freezer.
Across the corridor, the storage unit also offers up some extra work surface as well as more vital locker space.
The front locker perched on the drawbar can host two gas cylinder as well as the spare wheel and still leaves a bit of extra space.
The Truma Combi 4E system is more than capable of supplying all the heating and hot water you’re going to need in a small caravan like this.
The washroom is accessed via a space-saving tambour door and there’s space inside for a Dometic swivel-bowl toilet on the offside, with fixed corner basin in the opposite corner, while the central area is kept for showering – with wooden duck boarding, an opening window on the back wall and a mirror, along with toilet roll, towel holders and a toothbrush mug.
The basin’s tap extends for showering and can also be run out the window should you wish to use it outside!
There’s a handmade quality throughout the whole Barefoot Eclipse micro tourer. Those worktops, including the loose sink cover, are solid oak, for example. And underfoot is a hardwearing woven seaweed effect flooring.
You get plenty of choice, too. Everything from half a dozen exterior colours, to interior lighting to a retro-style Roberts Revival radio also in your chosen finish, as well as an array of soft furnishings (or you can even negotiate to supply your own).
It might have a solid feel throughout, but maximum weight is as low as 1,100kg – meaning you don’t have to compromise with a hefty towing vehicle – and the body’s aerodynamic qualities speak for themselves. Having said that, plenty of customers seem to want a Barefoot to complement their campervan!
