It may be German, but if certainly helps if you know the lingo – Knaus is pronounced “k-nous” and the model name is indeed L!ve (rhymes with five). And it might be yet another Fiat-based low-profile coachbuilt motorhome, with a typical rear single beds over a garage floorplan, but it comes in at under 7m in overall length and compromises throughout are few.
Starting point is Fiat’s wide track Ducato chassis-cab with a choice of engine and transmissions – the 140bhp unit with six-speed manual is the standard offering. Knaus’s bodywork includes traditional aluminium sides, while the roof is GRP and rear panel is plastic, all backed by a 10-year bodywork integrity warranty.
Aft of the cab, the windows are aluminium-framed and flush-fitting. The awning is standard, complete with a motion sensor for its light.
In this video, we take a look around the 2025 Knaus L!ve TI PLUS 650 MEG motorhome on a VW Crafter base vehicle:
The habitation door (again, with options to upgrade; shown here is the 50cm Premium fitting) is on the UK offside.
A particularly neat touch is the ServiceBox – a low-level locker that has access to the fresh water tank (for filling and cleaning), mains hook-up inlet, dump valve for the hot water system and quick release handles for the fresh and waste water tanks.
At the back, the garage comes with a 150kg payload (upgradable to 250kg) and includes adjustable lashing points, shelving, lights to both sides and a blown air outlet.
Inside the Knaus L!ve TI 650 MEG Platinum Selection motorhome, it’s a conventional layout but with plenty of clever touches as well as a real feel of quality.
The lounge is to the front, with the usual swivel cab seats and forward-facing double travel bench – with Isofix and adjustable head restraints – that can also make an L-shaped settee, plus an inward-facing seat. The table is a pedestal leg fixture, with adjustment including for height.
The main beds are the permanent singles at the back – 2.02m and 1.97m long, both 0.78m wide – with the facility to convert to double sleeping transversely, as needed.
Mattresses here are a comfortable EvoPore HRC, a premium elastic polyurethane foam that promises breathability, hygiene and optimum support – HRC standing for High Resilience Comfort.
The lounge seating and table can also be adapted for a third sleeping berth.
If the Knaus L!ve TI 650 MEG’s overall floorplan is typically continental, the same can be said for the kitchen. So, although there’s a three-ring gas hob and a 142-litre fridge with freezer and automatic energy selection, the low-set oven/grill looks like something of an afterthought.
The circular sink is rather small, too. Marks are clawed back for the fold-up worktop extension, splash panel, two mains sockets and a full-width drawer with large cutlery tray and easy-to-access isolator taps for the gas appliances.
There are even cleverer things going on in the washroom.
Access is via a space-efficient tambour door and there’s a bench toilet (instead of the more common swivel-bowl variant these days) plus a handbasin on a hinged wall section that swings into place for a showering zone – the shower itself extends from the basin’s tap and attaches to a riser bar.
The only downside of this kind of arrangement is there’s no opportunity for a window. Storage is good, however, with open shelving as well as a decent sized locker.
Thanks to its Platinum Selection status, there’s a more than generous starting specification – from the Pioneer infotainment system with reversing camera, to hot water and heating from Truma’s Combi 6E, to a TV that stores in the back of the rear seat, as well as pre-wiring for a second TV at the back, and plenty more. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of options to upgrade – the data panel below (or opposite) lists the major options, but there are quite a few more.
