I use ballons on tap, blow them up, put onto tap, open drain down tap and tap, you may have to squeeze ballon to start flow and re inflate a few times until blows air from drain down. Start at furthest tap from drain down. Amazing how many pints of water will come out. Ballon’s are cheap, light and take up virtually no space.

    All very informative

How do you block the toilet? You can’t persure the system without doing this

  4. Phil Wallace says:

Hi I am new to Caravanning, and have followed my manufacture’s recommended details on winter storage, and find your advice is the same, thank you. I also use my air compressor with a air gun attached, to blast air down the shower head tube to get rid of any remaining water in the system, works a treat.

  5. Rob Smith says:

Where can I get hold of some ‘non toxic antifreeze ‘. I drew a blank when I asked at the caravan and motorhome show!
Or do I just use Vodka…..

  6. Paul C. Rawbone says:

I would recommend dismantle inboard water pump filter, after drain down. Place a small towel under to catch any trapped drain off.

    Very helpful advice

  10. John Foster says:

I always blow down through each of the taps to hopefully remove any water traps, which I suppose is the same principal as the floe kit. I’m not sure if it works, but it makes me feel better thinking that it does.

  11. David Brown says:

Remember there is a 4″ black pipe above the toilet cassette that you remove the rubber bung to drain the water from the cistern prior to pressing the flush button to get the last of the water out

  12. John warrack says:

    Good
I have fitted a floe jet box
After draining down in the normal way till all the water stops flowing, I then plug in Floe jet plug to the mains and within 10 minutes It has emptied another 2 or 3 pints of water
I dread to think what damage this would have caused in a severe ice up
I am insured with Caravan Guard

  13. Maryann Plumbley says:

I assume there is nothing extra to do for the Motorhome?
