What do you class as motorhome ‘equipment’?
‘Equipment’ is covered under our motorhome and American RV policy. £5000 worth of equipment and personal possessions cover is automatically included. ‘Equipment’ refers to any non-fixed items which are used specifically in the motorhome, or which are motorhome accessories. This includes things such as portable water containers, gas bottles, generators, fuel cells, pots and pans, awnings, and security devices such as wheel clamps. It also includes items such as televisions and radios providing they are used solely in the motorhome.
Trailers such as those used to tow cars or motorcycles are also covered but must be locked away or fitted with a hitchlock or wheel clamp when not in use.
The maximum we will pay out for an awning, trailer or generator is £1000 per item. The maximum we will pay for other items including personal possessions such as clothing is £300 per item. The maximum total amount we will pay in the event of a claim for equipment or personal possessions is £5000.
Fixed items, such as built in audio / video equipment, navigation systems, tracking devices and alarms which came fitted as part of your motorhome by the manufacturer, or which have been retro-fitted, are not included in the £5000 equipment and personal possessions cover – any such devices should be reflected within your total sum insured.
The £5000 equipment and personal possessions cover is a policy benefit and does not need to be added in to your sum insured.« back
