Sitting outside, enjoying eating al fresco, or just making the most of some pleasant weather are among the many reasons for enjoying caravanning and motorhoming life. You’ll get a helping hand if you have the right outdoor furniture to accompany you on your travels, too.
Here, we take a look at some products that can help you make the most of your outdoor living and touring. That includes different styles of chairs, tables and more.
Top caravanning and motorhoming tips
- Keep an eye on weights. Before you get carried away with grabbing a whole load (literally) of furniture, do take into account the effect this will have on your caravan or motorhome’s payload.
- Similarly, furniture and kit that pack away to compact dimensions are always going to be onto a winner.
- Just bear in mind, too, although the products below are indeed designed for outdoor life, they still need a bit of protection from the weather. Store them safely whenever possible.

Outwell Nomadnest
A particular attraction of the Nomadnest folding seats from Outwell is they fit exactly into the tailgate storage slot for stowing such items in a Volkswagen California campervan. That doesn’t mean you can’t have them to complement any other make or model of leisure vehicle, though. And, with apologies to Volkswagen, the Nomadnests are a lot more comfortable and stylish than the original VW seats.

That does explain their slightly smaller overall dimensions, however, open size is 54cm x 50cm x 87cm high, with a seat height of 39cm. And their small pack size, in particular, will attract anyone where storage space is at a premium – it’s just 54cm x 62cm x 10cm. Folding is instant, and there’s a locking function included.
There’s also a choice of colours – Navy Night blue or Misty Grey.

Insurance considerations for outdoor furniture
Most specialist caravan and motorhome insurance policies will provide cover for camping equipment like outdoor chairs and tables. When it comes to caravan insurance, we ask customers to set an insured value for all their caravanning equipment which would include outdoor furniture. Then cover will apply in the event of damage or theft. Our motorhome policyholders get £5000 of equipment and personal possessions cover automatically included so camping chairs, tables and similar accessories would be covered under that section of our policy.

Very useful, but missed a recliner with lower leg rest when you recline, it’s really useful and nor much bigger than a normal foldaway chair.
