We’ve made a range of improvements to our motorhome insurance cover, with higher policy limits across several key benefits and new protection for lost keys, helping provide even greater peace of mind for motorhome owners.

The enhancements have been introduced to reflect the increasing value of motorhomes, accessories and touring equipment, as well as the rising costs associated with repairs, replacements and emergency support.
Higher limits where it matters most
Motorhome owners often travel with valuable equipment, from awnings and generators to bicycles, personal belongings and outdoor furniture. To help better protect customers, Caravan Guard has increased several policy limits.
The limit for awnings, trailers and generators has risen from £1,000 to £3,500, providing significantly more cover for some of the most popular motorhome accessories.
Meanwhile, the single item limit under personal possessions and equipment cover has increased from £300 to £500, recognising that many motorhomers now travel with higher-value items such as electrical equipment and outdoor gear.
Other improvements include:
- Locks and keys cover increased from £1,000 to £1,500
- Recovery and redelivery limit increased from £150 to £500
- Medical expenses cover increased from £500 to £750
- Emergency accommodation cover increased to up to £150 per day
- New protection for lost keys
One of the most notable improvements is the extension of Caravan Guard’s locks and keys benefit.

Previously, cover was available if motorhome keys were stolen or damaged. The policy now also covers the cost of replacing locks and keys following the loss of motorhome keys or keys for security devices you have fitted to your motorhome, offering valuable protection against a common and potentially expensive problem.
With modern motorhome keys often containing sophisticated electronic security features, replacement costs can quickly run into hundreds of pounds, making this enhancement particularly beneficial.
Supporting customers when the unexpected happens
The enhanced recovery, medical expenses and emergency accommodation limits are designed to help customers when travel plans are disrupted.

Imagine you’re touring Scotland and your motorhome is damaged in an accident, leaving it unusable while repairs are arranged. The increased emergency accommodation allowance can help contribute towards the cost of alternative accommodation, while the higher recovery and redelivery limits provide extra support in getting your motorhome where it needs to be.
Similarly, the increased medical expenses benefit offers greater financial support if you or your passengers are injured following an insured incident.
Continually improving specialist cover
Our Product Director Jason Ware added, “Motorhomes and their equipment are increasing in value, so insurance needs to keep pace. By increasing cover limits and extending protection for common claims such as lost keys, we’re giving owners greater peace of mind and better financial protection. As a specialist motorhome insurer, we’re committed to continually enhancing our cover so customers can travel with confidence, knowing they’re protected by experts who understand the motorhome lifestyle.”
These improvements are being introduced immediately and automatically for Caravan Guard motorhome insurance customers.
If a customer needs to make a claim before their renewal date, the higher limits will be applied where they provide a benefit. From renewal onwards, the new limits will form part of their policy cover.
These latest enhancements demonstrate Caravan Guard’s ongoing commitment to providing specialist motorhome insurance that reflects the needs of today’s leisure vehicle owners.
Benefits and discounts are subject to change and are subject to terms and conditions, cover level and underwriting criteria. Minimum premiums apply.
