Adria is extending its Twin brand to bring you its Supertwin models in a variety of forms – the 600 SPB here and the longer 700 SGA, both with the option of an elevating roof.

Here, we take a walk around the new Adria Supertwin 600 SPB campervan:
They’re based on the 4×4 version of Mercedes Sprinter, which also means Adria can offer the top-of-the-range 190bhp engine and nine-speed automatic transmission.
It’s certainly got the look of the moment, both inside and out. The exterior includes 17in Grabber AT alloy wheels, gas and water connections, an electric slide-out step at the sliding door.

As is normal with the Slovenian company’s leisure vehicles for the UK market, you get the added bonus of an All Inclusive Pack that includes hydraulic jack, DC/DC converter, TV holder, carpets throughout, oven, slatted frame and sprung mattress for the bed, cab door steps, awning with LED strip light and more.

It still leaves an extended list of optional extras. There are choices to be made when it comes to exterior colours (five, including two metallics) and upholsteries (four, three of which are leathers, including the Black option you can see here).

Do note, however, even the starting weight of this vehicle – i.e.before options – is 3,279kg. That means your speed limits on UK roads are limited to 50mph on single carriageways and 60mph on dual carriageways, although you can still travel at 70mph on motorways. Also, because the maximum weight is 4,100kg, you will need C1 status on your driving licence.

True to Adria’s Twin ethos, this variant features a transverse double bed at the back – something for which Adria has had to use extension pods either side to get the three-piece mattress area up to an acceptable length of 1.96m (it’s also a generous 1.45m width, with a 200kg load maximum). A drop-down canvas section also protects the occupants of the bed from direct contract with the rear doors.

Sliding door access is on the UK offside, where you’ll also find the kitchen. It comprises a two-ring hob (one larger than the other) combined with a sink and there’s also an oven and a Thetford compressor fridge with freezer.

Kitchen fittings also includes a couple of drawers, swish fold-up worktop extension, a dedicated coffee machine locker, and a nifty little fold-down flap that reveals the easy-to-access isolator taps for the two gas appliances.
Next to the kitchen, it’s a conventional lounge for a van conversion – not the largest but you can just about squeeze four around the side-fixing table with its swing-out extension.

The main tabletop includes a small section with cup holders. The side window here is top-hinged and comes with flyscreen and concertina blind.

Beyond the lounge and also on the nearside, the washroom has a Thetford swivel-bowl toilet along with a countertop handbasin on a hinged section that swings around when you want to create a shower area.

The shower itself clips to the ceiling, where you’ll also find a drop-down clothes rail.

Other washroom fittings include a small window with a locker above, plus a couple of bullet lights on rails.

Like other fittings throughout the Adria Supertwin 600 SPB campervan, those bullet lights are in black. Although that makes for a rather dark living area, you do get lots of daylight to the seating zone thanks to an overcab sunroof that also opens a vital few inches for ventilation.

There’s also a large rooflight directly over the seating.

Standard fittings also extend to Alde’s diesel-powered 4000 D heating system that includes underfloor heating, 100 litre fresh and 70-litre waste water tanks, and 100Ah lithium leisure battery as well as notable details like the double USB sockets to the underside of the upper lounge lockers, neat fold-out coat hooks on the washroom wall, flyscreen to the sliding door and plenty more.

Just watch that price. The Supertwin you can see here, with selected added extras (see opposite), comes in at some £141,475.

When are Adria going to get away from the black leather in the cab, `I really don’t like that. Also they should have put side windows in the bedroom area
There is te option to have the brown Harry leather Sharon and I believe it can be configured to have side windows
