2026 Hymer B-MC I 600 motorhome

German giant Hymer’s long affiliation with Mercedes continues here with the B-MC I 600, an A-class with pedigree in its DNA.

MC stands for ModernComfort and the overall feel of quality runs throughout, inside as out. It’s built on the SLC (Super Light Chassis) that Hymer developed on collaboration with Mercedes. This keeps overall vehicle height down, also offering more low-level storage and superior floor-level insulation, plus better handling.

It’s the 150hp (148bhp) engine with 9G-Tronmic automatic transmission on the Sprinter 317 CDI as standard, with options for more power. Trade up to the 417 CDI base and you also get a maximum weight increase at no extra charge. As is the way with motorhomes of this ilk, there’s every opportunity to tailor the final specification to suit your specific needs.

Bodywork is Hymer’s famed PUAL system that’s wood-free and uses aluminium outer and inner skins with polyurethane foam for insulation – Hymer claims a 3cm PUAL side has the same insulation properties as a 68cm thick solid brick wall.

At the back of the Hymer B-MC I 600 motorhome and accessed via large doors either side, garage load capacity starts at 350kg but even this can be uprated (to 450kg).

There is a cab door but, as usual, it’s on the UK passenger’s side. Similarly, the habitation door is UK offside. But that’s typical for any A-class imported to the UK.

As you step into the living quarters, you’ll notice a familiar enough floorplan. All the lounge space is towards the front, with an L-shaped settee joining the swivelled cab seats around a fixed pedestal leg table.

At the back and set over the garage, there are two permanent single beds, with the option to fill the gap between them should you prefer a double.

Rear beds are both 0.84m wide, 1.95m long on the nearside and 1.87m offside. Taking the sleeping accommodation up to a full complement of four, there’s a typical A-class fitting at the front – a pull-down double bed (it’s manual as standard) measuring a generous 1.94m x 1.45m. An option is to request high-level lockers here rather than the bed.

En-suite to the rear beds, the washroom is on the offside. Remodelled for 2026, it includes integrated storage. One key fitting in here that you don’t see so much these days is a bench toilet from Thetford rather than the more usual swivel-bowl variety.

Folding doors help towards making a more protected shower area and there’s an inset handbasin. There’s no room for a window, however.

The Hymer B-MC I 600 motorhome’s kitchen is directly opposite the washroom. Again, there’s plenty of scope to tailor this to your needs.

The full cooker you can see here is yet another desirable from the options list, but it still leaves plenty of storage options – including a rather nifty cutlery tray – and there’s a bit of permanent worktop in the corner between the hob and the stainless-steel circular sink.

Latest models also get a slimline compressor fridge with freezer from Thetford. Total capacity is a generous 152 litres.

Other features you should look out for on 2026 model year Hymer B-MCs include a pressurised fresh water pump and an electric central locking system for the kitchen storage doors.

Truma heating is offered as standard. Again, you’ll probably want to upgrade from the choices on the options list.

Alternative furniture finishes and upholsteries are also available, some free of charge, although leather starts at £850. Lighting, heating, and appliances and systems monitoring can all be controlled remotely via the Smart Connect Unit app.

This really is the type of motorhome you’re going to want to customise to suit your own lifestyle/budget.

Start with the packs listed opposite – they offer the best value. Go easy on all those factory-fitted optional extras, though. Or you might as well use the Blackline version as your starting point. It starts off at nearly £33,500 more.
