Fancy a small caravan that’s built like a pocket battleship? It might be a caravan floorplan that takes a bit of getting used to (in the UK, if not so for European countries where it’s very much proven), but the Weinsberg CaraOne 390QD fits the bill – providing four-berth accommodation in a unit with a total length of under 6m.

CaraOne is a four-model caravan lineup for the 2026 season. The 390QD kicks off the range, in terms of price, although sister models 390 PUH and 400 LK – also four-berths – have the same dimensions, except for the somewhat slimline 2.20m width boasted by the two 390s.

Latest versions of all benefit from what the company calls a “cosmetic refresh” with upgrades focused on a refreshed exterior graphics scheme and a new wood finish to the furniture. The biggest change, however, is the decision to switch the main door to the UK offside (most recent versions have had their door on the nearside and the interior layout re-organised to suit).
Elsewhere, this is certainly a little caravan that likes to think big. You certainly wouldn’t normally expect to see fittings like heavy-duty corner steadies and shock absorbers, or even a main door that’s some 60cm wide, also coming complete with a full flyscreen.

That single front window can seem a bit strange – that’s until you step inside and you realise the front end is taken up by a permanent double bed set transversely and measuring some 1.96m long and 1.40m wide, but tapering to 1.28m at the foot end and enjoying the comfort and support of a superior quality Evopore HRC mattress. There’s also a handy, full-width ledge here.

There’s a second double bed to be made at the back, too. In daytime mode, this is the seating/dining area in the nearside corner. It’s a dinette arrangement, albeit the wider seat along the back wall could possibly take two adults. At night, it converts to a bed measuring 1.87m x 1.17m/0.88m – those width figures suggesting it’s probably more suited to smaller folk. Alternatively, if there are two of you and you like to sleep separately, it’s a perfectly viable set-up.
Also, like the arrangement over the main bed, there are lockers and open shelving, with reading lights on stalks that also have USB portals in their bases. And a curtain separates the main bed from the rest of the living area. All windows have roller blinds and flyscreens.
There’s no extra charge for either of three alternative fabric upholsteries, but there’s a £371 premium if you want faux leather. Carpets are standard, too.

In the middle of the Weinsberg CaraOne 390 QD caravan, the kitchen has a three-ring triangular hob and a circular sink in matching stainless steel, with its mixer tap among a number of fittings throughout that have a black finish.

The fridge, a Dometic absorption model with a freezer compartment and a 98-litre total capacity, is under the hob. Our picture shows a worktop extension, but do note it’s an option.

The rear offside corner washroom has space for showering – a curtain is provided; and there’s a single plughole in a commendably deep shower tray – as well as a narrow handbasin. Also, here is a swivel-bowl cassette toilet.

Storage is surprisingly good, with upper- and lower-level lockers plus a couple of fixed hooks. A rooflight provides the ventilation, and there’s also a drop-down rail for hanging wet clothing etc.

The Weinsberg CaraOne 390 QD caravan also comes with a Truma heater (gas only, with mains operation an option), ambient interior lighting, an awning light, a gas locker that takes up to two 11kg cylinders, on-board 45-litre fresh water tank, a large wardrobe and more.
