We have strengthened our touring caravan insurance cover with a range of policy enhancements designed to better reflect the needs of today’s caravanners.
The improvements include higher limits for personal possessions, locks and keys, driver illness and emergency accommodation, helping provide greater financial protection and peace of mind both at home and on tour.
As caravans, accessories and personal belongings continue to increase in value, the changes make sure customers benefit from cover that keeps pace with the realities of modern caravanning.

Increased cover for personal possessions
Many caravanners travel with valuable items from home including clothing, bed linen and toiletries.
To better protect these personal belongings that you bring from home, Caravan Guard has increased the single article limit under personal possessions cover from £300 to £500.

This means customers have greater protection if an individual item is lost, stolen or damaged following an insured event.
For example, if a high-value jacket or pair of walking boots was stolen, the higher limit could provide extra financial reassurance when making a claim.
Triple the protection for locks and keys
Replacing caravan locks and keys can be expensive.
To help cover these costs, Caravan Guard has increased its locks and keys limit from £500 to £1,500. This applies to locks and keys for your caravan’s external doors or security devices, whether you lose them, they are accidentally damaged, or by attempted theft.
The significant increase reflects the growing costs associated with replacing locks and maintaining caravan security, giving owners greater confidence should the unexpected happen.
Enhanced support if illness disrupts your trip
Caravan holidays don’t always go to plan, and illnesses can sometimes cut a long-awaited break short. Recognising the financial impact this can have, Caravan Guard has increased its driver illness benefit from £1,000 to £1,500.

This enhancement provides extra support if the only capable driver becomes ill and is unable to continue the journey. It covers the driver’s rail fare home, plus the cost of returning your caravan to its storage location and towing the car to your home address.
The increased benefit offers extra protection to help customers manage an already stressful situation.
Higher emergency accommodation limits
If you have an insured incident whilst touring, meaning your caravan can’t be used, finding alternative accommodation at short notice can be costly, particularly during peak holiday periods. That’s why Caravan Guard has increased emergency accommodation limits across this optional cover.
Customers can now claim up to £150 per day towards emergency accommodation costs, compared with previous limits of £75 or £100 per day, depending on the cover selected.
The enhancement means caravan owners can secure suitable alternative accommodation without facing as much out-of-pocket expense if their caravan becomes unusable during a trip.
Continually improving specialist cover
“The prices of personal belongings, caravan parts, travel and hotels all seem to be going up, so our insurance needs to keep pace. By increasing cover limits across several key areas, we’re giving owners greater peace of mind and better financial protection when they need it most”, said our Product Director Jason Ware.
“As a specialist caravan insurer, we’re committed to continually enhancing our cover so customers can enjoy their holidays with confidence, knowing they’re protected by experts who understand the caravanning lifestyle”, he added.
The enhancements are being introduced automatically for existing Caravan Guard touring caravan insurance customers.
If a customer needs to make a claim before their renewal date, the higher limits will be applied where they provide a benefit. From renewal onwards, the new limits will form part of their policy cover.
These latest improvements demonstrate Caravan Guard’s ongoing commitment to providing specialist touring caravan insurance that evolves alongside customers’ needs and offers protection that reflects the true cost of modern caravanning.
