As the touring season starts to wind down for some, and many owners begin thinking about autumn and winter storage, now is the perfect time to tackle those essential maintenance jobs. Some tasks are quick and straightforward, while others can be more time-consuming, awkward or easy to put off.
That’s why we’d love to hear from you.
Vote in our maintenance poll
Whether it’s climbing up to clean the motorhome roof, remembering to carry out those essential tyre pressure checks before every trip, or keeping on top of damp prevention during the colder months, every motorhome owner has that one job they’d rather avoid.
Why motorhome maintenance matters
Regular maintenance isn’t just about keeping your motorhome looking its best. It can help prevent costly repairs, improve safety and give you peace of mind when you’re out on the road.
Autumn is often a key time for owners to:
- Thoroughly clean their motorhome inside and out, including solar panels
- Remove leaves, debris and dirt from the roof and seals
- Winterise and drain down water systems before periods of cold weather
- Check and maintain battery health
- Inspect tyres for wear, cracking and any damage
- Check for signs of damp or water ingress before they become bigger problems
- Inspect awnings for damage or mould
- Book in for a service and habitation check

While many of these jobs only take a little time, some can feel more daunting than others, particularly if they involve working at height, getting into awkward spaces or knowing exactly what to look for.
