Swift has revealed its 2027 campervan and motorhome line-up, with a host of updates designed to enhance comfort, practicality and off-grid touring.
Headlining the new season is a significant move to lithium battery technology across much of the range, alongside the launch of the all-new Merlin campervan and an all-electric Swift Carrera. Swift confirms its biggest upgrade for 2027 is the switch from traditional lead-acid batteries to lithium leisure batteries, bringing major advantages for campervanners and motorhomers.
Lithium power takes centre stage
The biggest change across the 2027 Swift campervan and motorhome range is the adoption of Roamer lithium leisure batteries.
Compared to traditional lead-acid batteries, lithium technology delivers a longer lifespan, higher usable capacity, faster charging and significant weight savings. For motorhomers and campervan owners, that means more time off-grid, improved payload capacity and greater flexibility when touring without electric hook-up.
Swift says the upgrade provides more usable energy, enhanced off-grid capability and reduced weight to help improve payload and fuel efficiency.
New Swift Merlin joins the campervan range
One of the biggest headlines for 2027 is the arrival of the all-new Swift Merlin campervan.
Designed as an entry-level campervan, Merlin will be available through Swift’s dealer network and is based on the Fiat Ducato panel van. Power comes from a 140bhp engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic transmission is available as an option.
The new range offers nine layouts, including five two-berth models and four pop-top variants sleeping up to four people.
Despite its entry-level positioning, Merlin comes generously equipped with:
- Exclusive Duvalay Alto mattress
- Swivelling captain’s chairs
- Two-burner hob and sink with glass lids
- Built-in microwave
- 80-litre compressor fridge
- Practical washroom with foldaway basin, shower tray and cassette toilet
- 91-litre fresh water tank
- 58-litre waste water tank
Swift says Merlin is aimed at both first-time campervan buyers and experienced campers looking to downsize without sacrificing comfort.
Carrera goes all-electric for 2027
Perhaps the most innovative update for 2027 is the transformation of the Swift Carrera campervan, which becomes fully off-grid capable thanks to an all-electric living package.
The popular campervan range replaces traditional gas appliances with lithium battery power and diesel heating, creating a more self-sufficient touring experience. Swift describes it as becoming “fully off-grid compatible”.
The upgraded electrical system includes:
- Roamer Smart 5 lithium battery with up to 340Ah capacity
- ICX300 inverter
- Auto AC transfer which switches to grid supply when mains hook-up connected
- AXC40 3-in-1 charger – a combined unit for mains, solar and DC-DC en-route charging
- Battery monitoring via smartphone app
- Upgraded 240w solar power system
Pop-top Carrera models feature a 240W solar panel, while fixed-roof models receive twin 120W solar panels. Helping owners stay comfortable year-round is a Truma 6kW diesel heating system, tested to Grade 3 insulation standards.
The kitchen has also been redesigned specifically for electric off-grid living, introducing a two-zone induction hob and an integrated 20-litre combination air fryer, microwave and oven.
Exterior changes include new framed windows, refreshed graphics, a new black awning and an optional blue body colour. The six-model range continues to offer layouts sleeping between two and four people.
New Trekker motorhomes
The coachbuilt Trekker motorhome range gains a new compact 505 model, measuring under seven metres in length and aimed at couples looking for a more manoeuvrable motorhome.
Swift has also confirmed the Monza campervan will not continue into the 2027 season.
Swift Voyager gets a stylish makeover
Swift’s family-friendly Voyager motorhome range receives a noticeable visual refresh for 2027.
Exterior updates include:
- New black moulded side skirts with no visible sealant
- Monochrome graphics
- Black awning mouldings and fittings
Inside, owners will find:
- New soft-close upper lockers with auto-lock function
- Updated handles and lighting
- New microwave fitted as standard
- New removable cab carpets
- Fabric wall panels
- Enhanced bedroom spotlighting
The Voyager range now focuses on six layouts in the 500 Series.
Escape becomes lighter and more accessible
Swift says the Escape range has undergone one of its most significant updates yet.
The 2027 Escape line-up is now primarily focused on two-berth touring as standard, appealing to couples looking for a lightweight motorhome with everyday driveability. Swift has reduced the MTPLM to 3,500kg on its two-berth models, making them suitable for drivers with a standard Category B licence in manual specification.
Other changes include:
- New lithium battery
- New Expedition Grey cab colour
- New refreshed graphics
- New cab carpets
- Reduced overall weight
Kon-Tiki welcomes new compact model
At the premium end of the range, Swift has introduced several upgrades to its flagship Kon-Tiki motorhomes.
Enhancements include:
- New exterior graphics
- Black moulded skirting
- Black awning
- Flush-fitting framed windows
- Dropped garage extension for easier access
- New lithium battery
- Updated kitchen splashback
- Redesigned kitchen lockers with integrated extractor fan
The range also welcomes the all-new Kon-Tiki 740, a shorter four-berth motorhome measuring under seven metres, designed for buyers wanting luxury touring in a more compact package.
Seven layouts are available across the range, sleeping between four and six people.
The verdict
Swift’s 2027 range places a clear focus on off-grid independence and weight-saving technology. The adoption of lithium batteries across the line-up, combined with the launch of the Merlin and the all-electric Carrera, represents one of the manufacturer’s most significant updates in recent years.
For campervanners and motorhomers who increasingly want the freedom to tour away from campsites without electric hook-ups, the 2027 Swift range looks well equipped for the future.
